
Amr Abdelbari is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Information Systems Engineering Department at Near East University (NEU), Lefkoşa, Cyprus. He received his Ph.D., MSc in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from NEU in 2021, 2019, respectively, with research focusing on signal localization and detection. He graduated in 2014 from faculty of Engineering, Sohag University, Sohag, Egypt.
His research interests span artificial intelligence, signal processing, wireless communications (modulation techniques, NOMA, OTFS, Massive MIMO), and autonomous robotics. Abdelbari has authored and co-authored several journal and conference papers published by IEEE, Springer, and Wiley. Prior to academia, he served as Head of Software Engineering at RoboLabs, where he led the development of embedded systems and ROS2-based Control architectures for autonomous robots. He also co-founded a company in automated trading platforms for stocks and cryptocurrencies. He is an active and enthusiastic engineer who works on many projects over the years in both academia and industry to develop and deliver high performance products.
Finally, he got many professional certificates and courses to enrich his skills such as Microsoft AI product manager, IBM AI product manager, Google AI essentials, FPGA Softcore Processors and IP Acquisition, and Hardware Description Languages for FPGA Design, both from University of Colorado Boulder.
