Our Software Engineering Students Take 3rd Place at CIVIL GAME JAM 2026

We are proud to share an achievement by students of our Software Engineering department.

On October 16-18, 2026, our students took part in CIVIL GAME JAM 2026, a game development competition held at the Middle East Technical University (METU) Northern Cyprus Campus. The event was organized by the Chamber of Civil Engineers (İMO) in cooperation with LootBAG Studios, METU KALTEV and METU NCC ACM, and brought together 65 teams and 265 participants.

Our Software Engineering team, SikeFlow.io, made up of İsmail Karadayı, Osman Can Altan and Eylül Kaynak, won 3rd place with their game VOLKANOVSKI.

Over 48 hours, the team developed a 3D game around the competition theme, “Disaster Preparedness and Awareness.” In VOLKANOVSKI, players prepare for an approaching volcanic eruption, evacuate villagers to safe areas, fight fires, and overcome a series of challenges while managing an emergency situation.

Throughout the competition, the team drew on their technical knowledge, teamwork, time management and problem-solving skills to deliver a fully playable game in just two days. Their project was evaluated by a jury of professionals from the gaming industry, who awarded it third place.

We congratulate our students on this success and wish them many more achievements ahead.
